"Both parties can do the job, but if I had my pick, I'm definitely going with Joe and Barack"

There's less than a month until Election Day, and Young Jeezy is still putting the word out for everyone to get to the polls this year. The Snowman is leaning heavily toward the Democratic side, especially since Republican presidential nominee John McCain chose Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate.

"I like Joe [Biden] a little bit better than Sarah," Jeezy said recently. "I understand she's the soccer mom and all that, and that's good. But if something happens to McCain, then what? Do you want a soccer mom to run the country? That's cool. I mean, she can run the house, though. I like Joe, though. Definitely. You got to be tough. I mean, I'm definitely not saying anything against what women do, but at the same time, Joe's firm, Barack [Obama]'s firm. They're straight to the point. They don't beat around the bush. Both parties can do the job, but if I had my pick, I'm definitely going with Joe and Barack. Too much more serious things going on."

One of those things is the nationwide economic crisis — Jeezy named his album to reflect the nation's current monetary difficulties.

Poll: Obama Gains in States That Went for Bush

On the eve of the penultimate presidential debate, a new TIME/CNN poll shows John McCain still struggling in states won by George W. Bush in 2004, a sign that last week's vice-presidential debate had little effect on voter opinion. In North Carolina, which Bush won by more than 12 percentage points in both 2000 and 2004, McCain and Obama are locked in a dead heat, with each candidate garnering the support of 49% of likely voters. In Indiana, which Bush won by 21 points in 2004 and 16 points in 2000, McCain maintains a slight 5-point lead over Obama, with 51% of likely voters, compared with Obama's 46%.

Stocks plummet on economic fear

Stocks tumbled today, with the Dow falling below 10,000 for the first time in nearly four years. At one point, the Dow was down more than 700 points. The sell-off came despite Friday's signing of a $700 billion bailout bill for U.S. financial institutions. European governments also are rushing to prop up failing financial firms, CNNMoney reports. developing story

Obama blasts Congress for failing to pass bailout bill

The bill failed by a vote of 205 to 228, with 140 Democrats and 65 Republicans voting in favor and 95 Democrats joining 133 Republicans against.

"This is a moment of national crisis, and today's inaction in Congress as well as the angry and hyper-partisan statement released by the McCain campaign are exactly why the American people are disgusted with Washington," the Obama-Biden campaign said in a statement released shortly after the vote.
